GP2X Wiz Information Up At GP2X.co.uk
GP2X.co.uk is now showing information on the upcoming GP2X Wiz “Open” console which should ship in February.
The prices reflect where the GP2X Wiz sits in relation to the Pandora, and it’s difficult not to salivate over both consoles which each have their own strengths.
The GP2X Wiz is smaller than the GP2X, looking somewhat like a Gameboy Advance Micro. It boasts a 533Mhz ARM CPU backed up by a 3D OpenGL Accelerator, 64MB RAM and a lovely OLED Touch Screen. It also does away entirely with analogue controls, favoring a much more emulator friendly duo of directional pads which should make adjusting the button layouts for lefties a breeze.
12 included games ensure out of the box satisfaction, but it’s really up to the stellar dev community surrounding the GP2X Wiz and its brethren to tax the console to its limits and bring us oft-unappreciative users droves of homebrew games, software, media players, emulators and more.
