Oregon Scientific RMR500 “Clima Control”
The RMR500 from Oregon Scientific is dubbed a “weather and home environment station” and supports monitoring the temperature and humidity in up to four rooms, displaying this information on a large LCD display. I can’t help but think it would be far more interesting if the RMR500 could make realtime adjustments to your heating or air conditioning systems to keep humidity and temperature within desired levels, but alas it’s just a humble device for reporting the condition of your environment.
Of course, if you’re in to that sort of thing then you can pick up the Clima Control for £59.99 which includes an internal and external sensor (2 extra indoor sensors are available to buy separately). FOr your money you’ll also get a 12-24 hour weather forecast, humidity alert, a radio-controlled clock and calendar in large-LCD backlit goodness.
Using the information from the RMR500 you can then easily make adjustments to your heating or consider picking up a (de)humidifier to make your home a little more comfortable.
