Sony MicroVault ‘Click’ USB Flash Drives
The Sony MicroVault Click USB Flash Drive is intended for the discerning consumer who doesn’t just grab a fist-full of generic Ebuyer drives. It comes in two ranges ‘MicroVault Click Excellence’ and ‘MicroVault Click’ targeted at business and consumers respectively.
The business range is styled across the board in an uninspiring beige (or ivory as Sony would like to call it) and comes in sizes ranging from 2gb to 8gb with a read speed of up to 31MB/sec and a write speed of up to 11MB/sec.
The much sexier consumer range comes in a plethora of size-specific colors and runs up to a roomy 16gb capacity.
The drives earn their ‘Click’ title by the action which retracts the USB connector, presumably keeping it safe from damage. However with no cap to block out dust and dirt this seems entirely aesthetic and will certainly make your USB drive look pretty when you’re carrying it if nothing else.
All of the drives are touted to be compatible with Vista’s ReadyBoost and include windows software installed on-disk for compressing the data in order to effectively triple the usable capacity of a drive.
