Dingoo Linux Improvements

Dingoo Linux is still very much in its growing phases, Booboo has a current work in progress kernel that communicates via Ethernet over USB. A massive improvement for interacting with your Dingoo A320, deploying content, using Telnet and, the holy grail, FTP. Being able to get files onto a running Dingoo Linux via FTP over USB is going to be a massive benefit to developers who will now be able to update/tweak their apps without a reset cycle.

Furthermore, a DHCP server will be started on USB connect, allowing the Dingoo to give itself an IP address and configure your PC as its default gateway. This means you should be able to get internet access on the Dingoo A320 over usb.

For Windows users, a FAT-only root filesystem is on the way, allowing you to simply format your entire SD card to FAT and maintain the ability to read/write easily in Windows to your bootable SD card.

There’s little left to go to get a basic, comfortable to use Linux. We’re still waiting for a selection of Menu applications, and an on-screen keyboard overlay for easy use of the command line, but they’re coming soon.
