Asoblock, Coming To UK Shores?
There are whispers all over the web about Asoblocks, the ball-and-joint centric construction kit that enables you to easily build some exceptionally good mechs with an excellent level of poseability, and more besides.
I’m trying to source a set or two for review at the moment, and in my attempts I’ve discovered that the makers of Asoblock are keen to bring their product to UK shores. This is good news for any Mech fan who has encountered how difficult and expensive it can be to produce good looking models with Lego, unless you pick up countless BIONICLE sets that is.
The home of Asoblock, Pregoods.com includes basic instructions on how to build with Asoblocks, more advanced instructions, a gallery showing off some awesome robot designs broken down by the set required to build them and details of the sets.
If you can’t wait to get hold of an Asoblock set, you might find that Pregoods will sell you them directly, Asoblock set prices are quite reasonable but I can’t say how much delivery might be.
The down side to Asoblock at the moment is that they don’t come in anything other than black and white, but should they see success in western markets then perhaps we’ll see bold reds, yellows and blues to fuel attempts at creating Gundam-like models.
