Pinnacle Video Transfer

In short the compact and moderately attractive Pinnacle Video Transfer is a device that will allow you to copy any S-Video or Composite video source to any USB mass storage device in a breeze and without needing a PC to get it up and running or do the grunt work.

You can record from a variety of sources including games consoles, video cameras, PVRs, DVD players and other set-top boxes. Alas there’s no support for high definition but this isn’t an issue when recording to portable devices such as a PSP, iPod or other PMP.

The unit does realtime H.264 video encoding straight to your chosen target device and requires no software or setup, it’s quite literally just plug and play.

The Pinnacle Video Transfer package includes a power supply, the unit itself, a video cable and a quick start guide. To connect any device you simply hook it up with its supplied USB cable to the Pinnacle Video Transfer unit and away you go.

A cheap freeview box coupled with the Pinnacle Video Transfer unit and a fast external USB 2.0 hard drive essentially gives you a D.I.Y. PVR.
