DMX 6 Fire USB From TerraTec
The little known TerraTec, producer of some pretty damned good products in my opinion, are now offering a USB edition of their popular 6Fire PCI audio board.
The unofficial successor to the DMX 6Fire 24/96 has been completely overhauled to deliver oodles more performance and pump out 96bits/192kHz via a USB 2.0 interface.
The 6 Fire USB will undoubtedly deliver acceptably professional quality sound but is designed for the consumer market. With no less than 4 analog inputs and 6 outputs available in RCA format plus digital optical/coaxial I/O and separate adjustable inputs for instruments such as guitar and bass, not to mention the MIDI interface, there’s a lot of connectivity packed into this little box. All of the inputs can be routed to monitoring at a hardware level with zero latency.
The DMX 6 Fire USB is available now at a comfortable £119.99, it currently only supports Windows but a Mac OSX driver is expected in April.
