Ultra-Portable Pinnacle PCTV Nano Stick
There’s never been a huge issue with the portability of PCTV USB sticks, they’re pretty small as TV tuners go, but Pinnacle seems to think there’s cause to make them even smaller and I can’t complain.
The biggest benefit of the new PCTV Nano Stick is, of course, the fact it intrudes even less upon other USB ports, a problem that is common on desktops and laptops alike with bulky USB dongles. Most of us have at some point rendered an ajacent USB port useless when plugging in an obese accessory.
“The PCTV Nano Stick device has an ultra-compact design and the latest DVB-T receiver technology which makes it the ideal choice for owners of portable video players who want a way to bring TV shows to their players, high tech aficionados who put a premium on design and ease of use, and TV fanatics who don’t want to miss an episode of their favourite series.”
As with all Pinnacle TV tuners the PCTV Nano Stick is a pinch to set up, just plug it in and install the supplied software to get started, sit back and use the included mini remote control to channel surf.
Users can start watching TV quickly after installing the highly intuitive Pinnacle TV Center Pro software. Thanks to TV Center Pro software, they can also timeshift live TV and record programmes. Timeshifting lets the viewer pause and rewind live TV at the press of a button. Moreover, TV programmes can be recorded to the computer’s hard drive in MPEG-1/-2 and DivX format quality or directly to DVDs that can be played on a regular DVD player. Last but not least, PCTV Nano Stick enables the user to watch, timeshift and record free-to-air HDTV programs in MPEG-2 as well as the new MPEG-4 H.264 (AVC) standard, which is being introduced in various European countries for DVB-T broadcasts.
Yes, I’m in a lazy mood this afternoon so I’m pasting in babble!
